KANYE: OVER-INDULGENCE?

I'm reviewing the new "arty" Kanye video for "FLASHING LIGHTS". I can't decide if this is actually credible or over-indulgent.

What do you think?

It’s clearly nothing more than an aesthetically pleasing crock of shit. The real question here is not whether it’s opulent or overindulgent, it’s whether it’s provocative or not. Modernist art as it is reeks of pretention, opulence, overindulgence and deceit. One has only to look at the works of Damien Hirst and Jeff Koon’s. I don’t particularly like either one of the work however both their work not only shock but have initiated old age debate as to what constitutes as art, better yet it makes us question, what is good art. Kanye’s work does nothing of a sort, nothing even remotely close. Kanye’s ‘Flashing Lights,’ is sadly nothing we haven’t seen before; nudity, beautiful women, music, video. The only thing that perhaps differentiates this music video from most of its counterparts is its weak Scorsese-esque approach. I love the music, I like the video but please do not insult my intelligence and tell me it’s ‘artsy’.

That’s my opinion anyway.
